The pre-registrations for this mayor skiff event opened yesterday, filling in quickly. In the past, there have always been some D-One sailors enjoying this great mix of sailing, training, eating, ... and showing good results.

Apart from the sailing, it is a beautiful venue where you can enjoy "La douce France". More information on the event could be found in the race calendar.

3 D-Ones gathered in Bruinisse together with 50 other skiff boats for the Dutch Open Skiff Trophy. The event was hosted by Aquavitesse, in the marina of the town. They offered perfect launching conditions for the fleet, very good and clean facilities in the marina and a very good race officer in the form of Bob Wainwright (Arky) taking the right decisions. There was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere amongst the sailors showing no boundaries between the different classes. Like many times, the D-Ones caught a lot of attention with many people taking pictures while rigging.

The boat

D oneThe hull was designed by Phil Morrison using the best materials and technology available to provide a unique sailing experience, the Devoti-One is built using carbon fibre and foam, constructed in CNC moulds, giving a stiff light hull. The carbon mast, boom and bow sprit maintain quality throughout and the boat has been extensively tested by a team of top sailors to make sure it’s a winner.

Upwind the Devoti-One is powered by a large 11.5 m² fully battened main sail that has enough power to be hiking early but is easy to keep control of when it gets fresher. Downwind, using the 13.2 m² gennaker, the boat is stable and easily driven with plenty of power available to the highly manoeuvrable and lightweight hull.

From the leading builders of the Olympic Finn, the Devoti-One has quickly gained international success.
